eSIM Compatibility 2026

eSIM Compatible Devices Is Your Phone Supported?

Most phones, tablets and smartwatches released since 2018 support eSIM. Below is the full, up-to-date list of eSIM compatible devices, plus a 30-second way to check your own. If your device supports eSIM, it works with a Cellesim data plan in 200+ destinations.

How to Check if Your Device Supports eSIM

Three ways to confirm in under a minute. The fastest is the dial code.

1

Dial *#06# (any phone)

Open your dialer and type *#06#. If an EID number appears next to the IMEI, your device has an eSIM built in.

2

On iPhone

Go to Settings, then General, then About and scroll down. If you see an EID, your iPhone supports eSIM. You can also open Settings, then Cellular, then Add eSIM.

3

On Samsung & Android

Samsung: Settings, then Connections, then SIM manager, then Add eSIM. Other Android: Settings, then Network & internet, then SIMs, then Add eSIM (wording varies by brand).

Important Notes Before You Buy

  • Your phone must be carrier-unlocked. A device locked to a specific operator cannot install a third-party eSIM until it is unlocked.
  • iPhones sold in mainland China, and some Hong Kong iPhone 12 and 13 models, ship with dual physical SIM slots and do NOT support eSIM.
  • US models of iPhone 14, 15, 16 and 17 are eSIM-only, with no physical SIM tray at all.
  • A few regional Samsung variants (certain US and Asia-Pacific versions) omit eSIM even though the global model includes it. The *#06# check is the safest confirmation.
  • If your exact model is not listed, it may still support eSIM. Use the dial-code check above or our compatibility checker below.

How to Find Your EID

Your EID is a unique 32-digit eSIM identifier. You normally do not need it to install a Cellesim eSIM, but it can help our support team diagnose an activation issue.

  • Dial *#06# and look for the EID line under the IMEI.
  • iPhone: Settings, then General, then About, then EID.
  • Samsung: Settings, then About phone, then Status information, then EID.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my phone supports eSIM?

The quickest way is to dial *#06# on your phone. If an EID number appears next to the IMEI, your device has an eSIM. You can also check Settings: on iPhone go to Settings, General, About and look for an EID; on Samsung go to Settings, Connections, SIM manager and look for Add eSIM. If either is present, your phone is eSIM compatible and ready for a Cellesim plan.

Does my iPhone support eSIM?

Every iPhone from the iPhone XS, XS Max and XR (2018) onward supports eSIM, including the entire iPhone 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 lineups, plus iPhone SE (2020 and 2022). The main exceptions are iPhones bought in mainland China and some Hong Kong iPhone 12 and 13 models, which use dual physical SIM instead.

Do all Samsung Galaxy phones support eSIM?

Most flagship Galaxy phones from the S20 onward support eSIM, including the S20 through S25 series, Note 20, and the Z Fold and Z Flip foldables. A few regional variants (certain US and Asia-Pacific SKUs) omit eSIM, so dialing *#06# to confirm an EID is the safest check.

Can I use a Cellesim eSIM if my phone is carrier-locked?

No. A phone locked to a specific carrier cannot install a third-party eSIM until it is unlocked. Contact your carrier to unlock the device, then your Cellesim eSIM will install and activate normally.

My phone is not on the list. Can I still use an eSIM?

Possibly. New models launch constantly and the list cannot cover every device. Dial *#06# and look for an EID, or open your SIM settings and check for an Add eSIM option. If either exists, your phone supports eSIM and works with Cellesim.

Do I need my EID to install a Cellesim eSIM?

No. Installing a Cellesim eSIM only requires scanning the QR code we email you, or tapping the install link. The EID is only occasionally useful if our support team needs to diagnose an activation problem.
