What does mobile data cost for tourists in Dubai?

Updated August 14, 2026

Three routes, very different prices.

  • Carrier roaming from home — typically 10-15 USD a day, or per-megabyte rates that get expensive within hours.
  • Local tourist SIM at the airport — convenient, but airport pricing is well above what the same operators charge in the city, and registration with a passport is required.
  • Travel eSIM — a 5 GB / 30-day plan averages around 28 USD across our single-country catalogue, bought before you fly.

For a typical week-long visit, most travellers use far less data than they expect: the median across our own eSIMs is under 100 MB a day. A 1-3 GB plan usually covers a Dubai trip comfortably, which puts the real cost well below a single day of carrier roaming.
